1. Scope of Survey

LASERIQ provides independent kitchen and bathroom measured surveys based on the visible and accessible areas of a property at the time of the survey.

Measurements are taken using reasonable care and skill and are intended to assist with the planning, design and quotation of kitchen and bathroom installations.

The Survey Pack is produced using information available at the time of inspection and should be read together with any notes, assumptions or limitations recorded within the documentation.

2. What the Survey Includes

Depending on the property and service requested, the survey may include:

  • Room measurements and dimensions.
  • Door, window and opening locations.
  • Ceiling heights.
  • Visible plumbing, drainage, gas and electrical service locations where relevant.
  • Fixed features that may affect the design.
  • Photographs and sketches where required.
  • A professionally prepared digital Survey Pack.

3. What the Survey Does Not Include

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, LASERIQ does not provide:

  • Structural surveys.
  • Building surveys.
  • Electrical inspections or certification.
  • Gas inspections or certification.
  • Plumbing inspections or certification.
  • Building regulation advice.
  • Architectural services.
  • Engineering reports.
  • Planning advice.

LASERIQ cannot confirm conditions concealed behind walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, fitted units or other inaccessible areas.

4. Estimates and Assumptions

Where dimensions or site conditions cannot reasonably be confirmed during the survey, any estimate or assumption will be clearly identified within the Survey Pack where appropriate.

Customers should not rely upon estimated dimensions where precise verification is required.

5. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate information when requesting a quotation.
  • Ensure the property is accessible at the agreed appointment time.
  • Inform LASERIQ of any known issues that may affect the survey.
  • Provide safe access to all areas requiring measurement.

LASERIQ reserves the right to refuse or postpone a survey where access cannot be safely obtained.

6. Use of the Survey Pack

The Survey Pack is supplied for planning and design purposes.

Before manufacturing, ordering or installing bespoke or non-returnable products, all critical dimensions, appliance specifications, clearances and site conditions should be independently verified by the retailer, designer, manufacturer, installer or any party relying upon the Survey Pack.

The Survey Pack remains the intellectual property of LASERIQ until full payment has been received.

Once payment has been received, the customer may use the Survey Pack for obtaining quotations, planning works and completing their project.

7. Booking and Payment

Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quotation does not create a booking or any obligation to proceed.

Once the survey requirements have been reviewed, LASERIQ will provide a fixed quotation.

If the quotation is accepted, payment must be made in full before the appointment is confirmed.

Appointments will only be confirmed once cleared payment has been received.

The completed Survey Pack will be prepared and issued following completion of the survey.

8. Your statutory right to cancel

Where a contract is agreed at a distance (for example by email, telephone or through this website) or away from business premises (for example in your home), you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is concluded. You do not have to give a reason.

To cancel, tell LASERIQ clearly before the 14 days expire. You may use the cancellation form below, but you do not have to. An email to info@laseriq.co.uk is enough.

Because a survey appointment is often needed sooner than 14 days, LASERIQ will ask you to confirm in writing that you want the service to begin within the cancellation period. If you then cancel after the work has started, you remain entitled to cancel, but you must pay a reasonable amount for the work already carried out. If the survey has been completed and the Survey Pack issued, the right to cancel no longer applies.

Any refund due will be made within 14 days of being told you wish to cancel, using the same payment method you used.

Model cancellation form

Complete and return this form only if you wish to cancel the contract.

To LASERIQ, info@laseriq.co.uk:

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the supply of the following service:

Ordered on / received on: ____________________

Name of consumer: ____________________

Address of consumer: ____________________

Signature of consumer (only if this form is notified on paper): ____________________

Date: ____________________

9. Cancellations and Refunds

This section applies in addition to your statutory right to cancel set out in section 8. Nothing in this section removes or restricts that right.

Customers may cancel or rearrange a confirmed appointment free of charge by providing at least 24 hours’ notice.

If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, or the survey cannot proceed because:

  • the customer is unavailable,
  • access is not provided,
  • the property is unsafe,
  • or the property is not reasonably ready for the survey,

LASERIQ reserves the right to charge a £50 cancellation fee to cover administration, travel and reserved appointment time.

Where payment has already been made, any remaining balance will be refunded.

If LASERIQ is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, the customer may choose either:

  • a full refund; or
  • an alternative appointment at no additional cost.

10. Incomplete or Construction Stage Properties

Where a survey is carried out on a property under construction, undergoing renovation or otherwise incomplete, LASERIQ records only the visible and accessible conditions present at the time of inspection.

Measurements, drawings and observations reflect the condition of the property at that time only.

LASERIQ accepts no responsibility for alterations made after the survey, including but not limited to:

  • plasterboard installation,
  • tiling,
  • flooring,
  • ceilings,
  • stud walls,
  • boxing-in,
  • plumbing alterations,
  • electrical alterations,
  • structural alterations,
  • or any other building or finishing work affecting dimensions or layouts.

Where dimensions cannot reasonably be confirmed because of the stage of construction, this will be noted where appropriate within the Survey Pack.

It remains the responsibility of the customer, builder, retailer, designer or installer to verify all dimensions and site conditions that are critical before manufacturing, ordering or installing bespoke or non-returnable products.

11. Limitation of Liability

LASERIQ accepts responsibility only for losses directly resulting from proven negligence in carrying out the survey.

LASERIQ shall not be liable for losses arising from:

  • concealed or inaccessible site conditions;
  • alterations made after the survey;
  • information or measurements altered by third parties;
  • inaccurate information supplied by the customer;
  • manufacturing decisions;
  • installation decisions;
  • design decisions;
  • reliance upon estimated dimensions where verification was recommended;
  • failure by third parties to independently verify critical dimensions or site conditions before manufacturing or installation.

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under the laws of England and Wales. This includes your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact LASERIQ at info@laseriq.co.uk or on 07359 069830.

LASERIQ will acknowledge your complaint as quickly as possible and aim to provide a full response without unnecessary delay. Where longer is needed to look into something, LASERIQ will tell you why and when you can expect a reply.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
